Chaudoux-Verdigny
an extraordinary viticultural site made of hills
and chalky stones (called "caillottes")
and of "Terres Blanches" ("White
grounds") , higher chalky hills. There, the
wines' tastes are more ample and rounder and have
a peerless elegance.
With a ground mainly made out of flint, some vineyards
from this domain de Girard produce white wines with
a characteristical flintstone taste.
Sancerre is a Controlled Appellation since 1936
and gained,
with time, a coveted place among the great wines,
actually being a must in any wine-cellar worthy
of that name.

Sancerre
Red Wine 1997
This Sancerre
offers a clear ruby robe, allied to a strong amber-pink
nuance. It displays a wide intensity in its aromas,
calling up cherry, torrefaction , and plum. In the
mouth, tannins are even more present, and powerful
aromas emerge, with cherry dominating.

Sancerre
White Wine 1997
Clear, with
a nice green-tinted golden color, this wine appears
to be both fine and powerful, expressing aromas
of case and citrus fruits. A round taste, it shows
case and greeny nuances; in the background, one
will note the ripe fruits and asparagus tastes.
